Luiz Arruda Paes E Sua Orquestra - Brasil Dia E Noite Vol. 2. Odeon MOFB 3480 1966
This was a big version of “Upa Neguinho” in the non Brazilian world and therefore an expensive record back in the day! Of course the price has calmed down a lot since the internet, and the knowledge of this tune has also gone south, but it still sounds great! The rest is pretty big band-ish so kind of a one-tracker, but what a track! One for the djs for sure. VG-/G+ looking disc but Upa Neguinho plays great and the little marks just produce small noises that are easily drowned out once the music kicks in. Cover wrapped in plastic looks VG++ under there. Brazil original.
